Problem
Many small retail stores rely on manual processes to track inventory and check product expiry dates. This leads to time-consuming work for employees and increases the risk of human error.
Our goal
The goal was to reduce manual work for retail employees by providing a centralized dashboard that automates inventory monitoring and expiry tracking.
Solution
I developed an integrated module which tracks item stocks, alerts the user when stock is low and tracks item popularity. This module is then connected to the project lead's computer along with other modules to simulate how our product would function in a small retail store.

My Role
Responsible for project documentation, integrating data from hardware modules into the dashboard, assisting in the development of the dashboard, and supporting team members with technical challenges.
Challenges
One challenge was coordinating data from multiple modules reliably. This was addressed by structuring the data flow clearly and ensuring consistent communication between the hardware and the dashboard.
Outcome
The final system successfully automates key inventory-related tasks, reducing the need for manual checks and improving overall workflow efficiency for store workers.
What I Learned
This project strengthened my understanding of embedded systems integration, hardware to software communication, and building practical web dashboards for real-world applications.
